  11. This is a somewhat belated announcement of a new Macintosh version
  12. of RIPEM.
  13.  
  14. Raymond Lau (the author of StuffIt) has created an entirely new
  15. version of RIPEM for the Macintosh.  Although this new version
  16. is still considered to be in beta testing, it is already generally
  17. agreed to be a big improvement, usability-wise, over the current
  18. RIPEM Macintosh port.

  20. You can get Raymond's RIPEM from the FTP server ripem.msu.edu.
  21. Look for /pub/crypt/ripem/binaries/ripem-macintosh-mac-0.6b3.sit.hqx.
  22. As usual, you must have an account to access the crypto files
  23. on this server.  See the file GETTING_ACCESS.

  25. More advanced versions of Raymond's RIPEM are under development.
  26. I would expect to see several updates over the upcoming weeks and
  27. months.
