- David, thank you for a very constructive and mature critique.
-
- Let mwe tell you something. I watch a lot of old movies. I enjoy many
- of them. Despite the rotten messages. Let me tell you something else.
- Someone posted that these movies were romantic. I said that I take exception to
- that, because its plot involves people playing dirty tricks on each other.
- Let me tell you a third thing. This kind of message constantly emanating
- has a major effect on people's attitudes. Time and time again, you see
- discussed the nice guy thread, is there love at first sight, if you love
- him/her, you'll put up with anything, what tricks can I use to win him/her.
-
- We have to be realistic about these things, that's what I'm pointing out.
- I'm sorry I smeared your favorite movies in your opinion, but I thought
- it needed to be said.
-
- I find your outburst in response to be cynical, confrontational and
- the opposite of the way I stated it at the top of this posting.
-
- It really wasn't necessary, David.

- I think I summarized it quite well. It is an entertaining movie. They
- are, in general. They still deliver rotten messages.

- Are you saying I said this about Ladyhawke? I never did. If it's
- supposed to be your extrapolation of how I summarized the other
- movies, you're exaggerating, overreacting, and being very cynical.

- I did criticize this movie. I was going to point out, though I forgot,
- that at least it had the guts not to pull a weird twist at the end so
- that he got to stay. I also didn't point out that the people who made
- it didn't study the INS procedures very well.

- The only critique I made of the movie was that she didn't remember him
- when he came back. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed it. I really take exception
- to you making up stuff I'm supposed to have said.

-
- No, I didn't see it. If the plot summary is accurate, the conclusion seems
- reasonable.
