  31. Jennifer's question snapped him out of his reverie.  Glancing around, he
  32. noticed the theatre, and surmised that she had asked about seeing the
  33. picture.  "Sure," Tony said.  "I've got nothing better to do."

  35. As soon as the words left his mouth, he winced.  That hadn't been what he
  36. had wanted to say, but sometimes his mouth began to put out words before
  37. he had thought about them.  That mental short-circuit had caused him all
  38. kinds of problems with his boss before, and his last girlfriend had left
  39. because of it.  "Sorry, I meant to say I'd love to..."
