  12. After my four-year relationship ended, a friend in Kentucky sent me a
  13. care package that included her copy of _The Road Less Traveled_ by M.
  14. Scott Peck.

  16. That act alone was a very cleansing one for me.

  18. I was only able to read the first section, Discipline, at the time.  I
  19. finished that section and read the first few pages in the second
  20. section, Love.  Unfortunately, at that time, I was not strong enough to
  21. read the section -- I was afraid that I would find something hidden
  22. underneath my pain that would symbolize that I had been "at fault" for
  23. the ending of my four-year relationship.

  25. I now have my own copy and will be returning my friend's copy to her
  26. because it is she now who needs the act of giving.
  27.  
  28. As fate may have it, my SO and I reconciled our problems three months
  29. later and have been happily dating again for the past seven months.
