  11.     Well, I've thought an awful lot about what to get her for Valentine's
  12. day, and I am taking *ALL* of your suggestions to heart.

  14.     THat's right-I am the originator of the wha-to-get-her for Valentine's
  15. Day thread, and the reason why I am posting is twofold.
  16.  
  17.     First and foremost, I want to thank you all for you timely and thought-
  18. full suggestions.

  20.     Secondly, and more important, I want to tell you more about this 
  21. "expensive gift" I got her for X-Mas.  Bear with me, as this is important and 
  22. Germane to the story and it saves me the trouble of emailing everybody who said
  23. that I don't have to get her an expensive gift based on what I got her for X-Mas.

  25.     Three years ago, shortly before X-Mas and finals week, I had bought this
  26. gift for my then girlfriend of almost two years.  She dumped me just before
  27. finals week, it sort of messed me up, but that's over now.
  28.  
  29.     I thought about taking it back, as I still had the receipt, and even my
  30. folks told me that that's what I should do.  I kept the gift, because I thought
  31. returning the gift would be symbolic of me giving up on romance, and also 
  32. symbolic that my ex-girlfriend had wrecked me so much that I would have just 
  33. give up totally.

  35.     So then I met my current girlfriend, and she told me things that I never
  36. would have thought of telling somebody so soon in a relationship.  I guess it is
  37. because she trusts me.  So, I guess giving her the "expensive gift" was not only
  38. symbolic of my love for her, but of the trust I have in her.

  40.     So, that's that about the "expensive gift."  My girlfriend sometimes
  41. frequents this group, but I don't care if she reads this or not because I love
  42. her very much.
  43.  
  44.     Once thanks for all of your kind sauggestions.  I will try them out and
  45. let you know how they work.
