- I believe the whole point of his being aloof and condescending was to
- show that he believed that she had agreed to be married of her own
- accord, and was not forced to be married as was truly the case...
- Misinformation is a powerful motivator. He believed that she no
- longer loved him, and thus was quite irate. I can understand that...
