- I'm hearing this more and more frequently. I just don't buy it. Is there
- anyone out there who also thinks like me that this is a really a wishful
- post-hoc analysis of failed past relationships, rather than a realistic
- approach to romance?

- I mean, I'm more for rationality in romance than most, but I have great
- difficulty in looking at my past relationships (friendships) with this
- sort of "trying to look at failure positively" attitude -- or is it more
- cynical? "I'll go out with her/him to see if I like *this* about people".
