  20. I'm hearing this more and more frequently. I just don't buy it. Is there
  21. anyone out there who also thinks like me that this is a really a wishful 
  22. post-hoc analysis of failed past relationships, rather than a realistic 
  23. approach to romance?

  25. I mean, I'm more for rationality in romance than most, but I have great
  26. difficulty in looking at my past relationships (friendships) with this
  27. sort of "trying to look at failure positively" attitude -- or is it more
  28. cynical? "I'll go out with her/him to see if I like *this* about people".
