  20. the hardcore -- strong , rock - solid drum patterns with no breakbeats ,
  21. all kinds of funky shit on top . if you're into layer - upon - layer -
  22. upon - layer orchestrations like most of the belgian stuff , you might
  23. not be into it , but i like it a lot . Cybersonik and Speedy J are two
  24. of the best hardcore acts going , IMHO . Underground Resistance , also ,
  25. but they're not on +8 .

  27.                 one thing about hardcore -- it
  28. *requires* better than average DJs to be successful in a club . the DJs
  29. who sync up the beats and then play the entire cut will bore everyone
  30. off the floor with it . people like Jeff Mills or Kevin Saunderson , on
  31. the other hand , will use it as " building blocks , " syncopating it
  32. with other records , layering it into the mix , usually for no more than
  33. about 30 seconds per disc . in talented hands , it can be an amazing
  34. experience .
