  21. My concern so far is with studio use, but I would trust my
  22. Mac for live use (given the normal precautions).
  23. I would also want to create music in as close to the same way as possible
  24. no matter where I go. This means computerS, synths, samplers, effects,
  25. open communications with my collaborator and no staging for visual interest.

  39. I guess there's an assumption that if you use computers then you are
  40. doing it *all* with the computer. Not so for me and thus the "multiplatform"
  41. in the subject line. (Basically, I'm convinced that I don't use my sequencer
  42. the same way as anybody else and the majority of my midi files would
  43. leave the average computer-midi-synthesist completely puzzled.)

  45. Running several synths with midi and from a Mac or PC sequencer,
  46. I haven't had a problem controlling any midi-accessible continous
  47. controllers. But I'm a "hands on" kind of guy :) and likewise I haven't
  48. had a problem with grabbing a knob on a synth while playing live or
  49. via midi. Despite being a studio-based Techno maker, I take a
  50. substantially live approach to things.

  52. As to live filtering of Mac samples under midi control....well that's
  53. another matter entirely. I'm not saying it can't be done, tho.
