  25.     Surely an S1000 is just a computer with a 16-bit parallel port , with
  26. 16-bit analogue to digital convertors , with the whole thing only able to run
  27. one program ,ie. the sampling/editor one ?

  29.     Correct me if I'm wrong , but if I bought a high-quality 16-bit sampler
  30. for my 'SHIT COMPUTER' (sic) , and then bought some nice editing software , then
  31. I would be able to sample as well as an S1000 can , as all it is is an extremely
  32. expensive computer which can't do shit all else ... OK , I might not have top
  33. notch S1000 , but then maybe I don't want everything to sound as produced as
  34. Madonna :-)

  36.     Take , for example , Audiomaster IV on the Amiga .... it can stretch
  37. samples without altering the pitch , alter the pitch without stretching the
  38. sample ,etc... can you do this on an S1000 ( I really have no idea here :-) ???

  40.     If it came down to it , the money spent on an S1000 could keep me in
  41. STUSSY for year ...
  42. Anyway , can't you buy a reasonable car for the price of an S1000 ???

  44. As someone (Eric , I think) pointed out , sample quality is a subjective thing
  45. and depends on the application of the sample , so why sample at a higher quality
  46. when you really don't need to ??

  48. The SPARC 10 in front of me has 8-channel 16-bit Audio , so what makes a S1000
  49. so much better ?
