- ..sage relaxed with his drink and took in the surroundings of the
- Inn. Wood panelled floor with the occasional stone insets to help
- give support to some of the Inn's larger customers.
- Smokey rafters that would never be clean again, and the ever-
- present Littlefair, wiping a glass behind the bar as he exchanged
- pleasantries with another patron.
-
- The Rabble had quietened down to a low buzz as they made bets on
- anything and everything they could see, smell or spit on, and the
- shadowy corners seemed to somehow be less menacing than usual.
-
- The number of non-descript people with something non-non-descript
- about them still seemed to be high, but that was to be expected.
- An Inn like Littlefair's seemed to attract more than its fair
- share of oddities.
-
- ..sage grinned. As a blind albino drow, who was also a librarian
- and an archmage, he was hardly a non-oddity himself.
-
- His mind wandered to Father Lucas again, the man who had appeared
- from the bulk of Great Mother, and who he had taken away from the
- unholy grotto before it collapsed on top of them.
-
- He could not delve past the apathy that encompassed this man's mind.
- It was all-consuming and ...sage would give up probing each time,
- before he realized it, despite his determined resolve.
-
- Catching Littlefair's eye, he motioned the barkeep over and ordered
- a 'Melancholy Orange' for the morose priest, then watched with
- blank eyes as a serving girl dropped off the drink at Luke's table.
