  35. As Listener's strains wafted through the disorder, those inclined to
  36. violence suddenly felt very relaxed and the melee broke apart as fast
  37. as it started.

  40. speaking English. The mind readers would have little difficulty making
  41. themselves understood and understanding him, but for the vast majority
  42. of the Generica, the poor guy would have little hope of communicating.
