- > The dwarf decides it's time he said something about that poem of
- >Cranach's. 'I seem to remeber a poem much like the one you just recited.
- >De end ad ta do with de accomplishing de bypassing of dose dere obstacles
- >myboy. Nothin bout the netherhells. Me memory is a little foggy bout de
- >piece of writing. I may be wrong. As for rewards, all I want is to be able
- >to sit me older upon dat dere throne in de keep' mentions the dwarf. As he
- >queitly watches for dem dere reactions.
-
- Cranach sat queitly for a moment, and digested the words of the
- dwarf. Suddenly, he lept to his feet sending his chair crashing
- to the floor , startling the occupants of the room. He stepped close
- to the dwarf, and said, in a seething stage whisper,
-
- "What in the name of all that is evil do you
- know about the dark realm ? Where would
- you have picked up that little piece of
- poetry, my good sir ! Perhaps, you
- of no name, are a black dwarf ---the
- type that eats small children for breakfast
- stuffed with roasted orc entrails ? "
-
- Cranach's mind grimaced at his memory of
- this.
-
- "I can assure you , if you are a Black
- dwarf, then you and I must meet, this
- night, and have done with it !"
-
- Cranach stood barely inches from the face
- of the dwarf, glaring, his face palid and
- tense.
-
-
- Mr Briggs meanwhile, remained seated, and was taken aback
- and slighly firghtened about the sudden change in the atmosphere of
- the room.
-
- "uuuuugghhhh,.....", Briggs said as he cleared his
- voice.
-
- "Gentlemen, gentlemen, let us not begin our quest
- at each other's throats!. Let us instead retire
- to my lodgings, where we can further our
- discussions, in a more discreet manner."
-
- As Briggs said this he thought " What have I got into this time ?
- Ths whole thing is going to be a disaster ! ".
-
- The Drow and the dwarf stared at each other a moment but
- decided to postpone the argument for later. Dahvyn and
- Briggs rose, exited the storeroom and headed towards the
- main entrance. Next to leave the room was the dwarf, followed
- a few seconds later, by a still palid Cranach.
-
- As Cranach passed across the room, he noticed a
- strangley ringed and hard looking individual, dinning with a stunning
- looking Woman. The individual's eyes met his, with a masked but
- tense stare, equalled only by the dark, emotionless glare
- Cranach returned. Moments later, he met with his other three companions
- at the main door, whereupon they all left the Inn, bound for
- Mr Brigg's lodgings.
