  17. Recently I've come to the conclusion that it is time for me to seek

  19. some counseling to help me deal with some of the feelings and

  21. thoughts that I've been having.  I'm not ready to let the whole
  22.  
  23. world know what is going on here, but just some general depression,
  24.  
  25. occasional anxiety, low self esteem, hatefulness towards my co-
  26.  
  27. workers, etc.

  31. I do not know any mental health professionals myself, and none of
  32.  
  33. my friends have ever been to counseling (that I know of <grin>).

  35. I work in a career field that would result in much trouble and
  36.  
  37. hardship should my employer discover that I was seeing a
  38.  
  39. psychologist.  The Employee Assistance Program at work is not
  40.  
  41. confidential, they notify your boss shortly after you call in for
  42.  
  43. help.  There have already been two guys to be fired/forced to
  44.  
  45. retire after contacting the EAP.

  49. My health care provider informed me that I should not come to them

  51. if I'm at all concerned about privacy.  It was suggested that I
  52.  
  53. look elsewhere for complete confidentiality.  Some folks on these
  54.  
  55. 800 hot-lines that I've recently called suggested I even use an

  57. alias and pay in cash if I should seek counseling.

  69. 2) What is the difference between psychologist, psychiatrist,
