  13. As part of our daily ritual of self torture, my wife an I read
  14. the newspaper in search of some glimmer of hope for this self-
  15. less socialist world.  (I must admit that Sandy (my wife) reads
  16. more of the paper than I do.  I often skip to the comics. :-) )

  18. We clip out letters or articles that REALLY offend our
  19. objective moral ethic and have been saving them as examples of
  20. the media's (sorry for generalizing) tendency to spurn
  21. individuals who achieve or think for themselves.   Call it our
  22. 'Catalogue of Collectivist Quips'.
  23.  
  24. Does anybody else do anything similar?  It need not be newspapers
  25. or even media.  For example, we have included most of the text of
  26. the Charlottetown Accord. (The Canadian government's latest
  27. attempt to entrench statist dogma in our constitution -
  28. thankfully shot down by a national plebiscite last October)
  29.  
  30. I'll include some examples, but I would like to know if other
  31. localities have the same media/governmental bias towards statism,
  32. altruism and the end of individual freedom.  I think it would be
  33. helpful to see examples of this material in
  34. alt.philosophy.objectivism.

  64. smallest unit that can have 'rights' then what point is there in
  65. protecting 'collective rights'.  This implies that certain groups
  66. of people have greater rights by virtue of their inclusion in a
  67. group.]
