  22. Hate to break it to you, but the government certainly does tell us what is
  23. art.  Where were you during the Maplethorpe controversy?  Why do you think
  24. movies have a rating and who do you think determines that rating?  Who 
  25. controls the funds given out by the NEA?  The fact that we have given the
  26. government the power to "protect us from ourselves" does not mean that
  27. government action taken to that end does not constitute discrimination.  You
  28. may not agree with it, but yes, the government does have the right to 
  29. discriminate.  And until enough people complain about discrimination against
  30. people on the basis of sexual preference, it will continue.

  33. a more appropriate newsgroup.
