  20. Well, there are in fact 25 letters in the ogham alphabet. But they are
  21. broken up into 5 groups of 5
  22.  carvings (3 groups of 5 for the purpose of divination), so there must
  23. be some mystic numerology 
  24. significance somewhere. Also, one of the letters, the 5th i think,
  25. actually is associated with the
  26.  pentacle, at least in the version i have. the version i have, used by
  27. celtic druids, is supposedly 2500 
  28. years old, which is pretty recent considering how much earlier other
  29. cultures use it. The oldest
  30.  culture to use it seems to be Sumerian.

  32. But how did the pentacle make its way from Sumeria to the Celts? Or,
  33. since its such a fundamental
  34.  symbol, did it spontaneously get generated, say, among the Pictish
  35. peoples? How/when did the
  36.  pentacle get to Ireland?

  38. BTW, ive been told its possible to take lots of copper wire, and
  39. bend/wrap it into a pentagonal pentacle,
  40.  then soak it in water till it turns green. but im not an artist, and im
  41. afraid whatever i make that 
  42. way will fall apart, so im still looking. any tips appreciated.
