  11. When I try to execute VM from an LEMACS 19.4 image, it fails to complete
  12. initialization and produces the error:  invalid argument (or something
  13. like this): stringp, nil.  It seems to have difficulty loading the 
  14. vm.elc provided in the ftp source.  When I remove the vm.elc file and
  15. replace it with a single file containing:
  16. (load "vm...")
  17. ..
  18. instead, it initializes as I expect it to.
