- I know of several alternatives for you. Perhaps someone else can provide
- you with details on how to locate them.
-
- 1. Contact a local library (college, university or public) and have a
- literature search down for the awk programming language. There have been
- tutorials written in various Sun oriented and Unix oriented magazines
- teaching awk usage over the past few yrs.
-
- For instance, the SIGPLAN Notices, V18 #12 - Dec. 1983 has an article
- called "A Walk Through AWK" written by Leon S Levy of Bell Labs which
- is very good.
-
- 2. Look for a document, which is available online somewhere, called:
- "A Supplemental Document for AWK, - or -, Thanks Al, Pete, And Brian
- Didn't Mention Much" by John W Pierce, Univ of California, San Diego.
-
- 3. Using gopher, go searching for guides to awk written at other colleges
- and universitys.
