- What follows is the text from a couple of messages posted on this subject
- last summer. I haven't had the opportunity to try it- but from reading
- below it looks as if it's possible but some expirementation may be
- necessary. If anyone is sucessful- let me know.

- "How do I transfer mail between my Internet account and an AT&T EasyLink
- (Instant Mail Service) account?"
-
- Thanks to the following people for their help:
-
- Mark Jackson (mjackson@attmail.com)
- Alan Toscano (atoscano@attmail.com)
- Michel Perdreau (mperdrea@oucsace.cs.ohiou.edu)
- David A. Roth (david@roth-music.com)
-
- The answer is:
-
- To send mail from Internet to EasyLink IMS, use the address
- 62xxxxxx@eln.attmail.com
- To send mail from EasyLink to Internet, use the address
- IPM
- PRIMARY
- COUNTRY US
- ADMD ATTMAIL
- ORG UUCP
- DDA ID-INTERNET!!SYDNEY.TPS.COM!!DAVIDS
- END+
-
- Internet to EasyLink works as advertised. I have not verified EasyLink to
- Internet yet. Note that in the DDA line, ! is used to escapelowercase
- letters. !! is used for a single ! in the address. Thus, if my username had
- to be in lowercase, the line would be
- DDA ID-INTERNET!!SYDNEY.TPS.COM!!!D!A!V!I!D!S

- It will be interesting to here how this works. I have been advised
- somewhat
- differently, i.e., that since the mail must pass thru UUCP, the username
- and
- domain address _must_ be in lowercase. However, since the output driver on
- EasyLink is upper case, to send lower case letters to Internet, each letter
-
- _must_ be prefixed with a !. For example, to send from EasyLink to me
- would be
-
- IPM
- Subject (optional)
- PRIMARY
- COU US
- ADM ATTMAIL
- ORG ATTMAIL
- DDA ID-INTERNET!!!w!r!a!i!r-!e!m!h1.!a!r!m!y.!m!i!l!!!n!a!u!e!n

- This supposedly pertains only to customers on the old EasyLink, formerly
- owned
- by Western Union and now owned by AT+T. Further help may be available from
- <wu/O=ATANDT_EASYLINK_SERVICES/DD.ELN=62400400@mhs.attmail.com>, which is

-
- EasyLink customers on ATTMail, who were never part of the Western Union
- system,
- supposedly can send more simply, using lowercase letters as desired.
