- Can anyone point me towards a discussion concerning how to build and
- maintain a database, online, of user names / email ids / computer account ids ?
-
- I know there must be several ways of doing this. We have a couple of
- thousand users, some std vendor mail software as well as in house grown
- software, and what we want to be able to do is allow a user to send mail
- to a user's name and have it arrive to the proper destination. Since
- many OS's have small character sets and/or limited lengths, users have
- this annoying habit of having the same names, etc. I am sure that various
- folk are evolving techniques for handling this type of thing.
