  12. Can anyone point me towards a discussion concerning how to build and
  13. maintain a database, online, of user names / email ids / computer account ids ?

  15. I know there must be several ways of doing this.  We have a couple of
  16. thousand users, some std vendor mail software as well as in house grown
  17. software, and what we want to be able to do is allow a user to send mail
  18. to a user's name and have it arrive to the proper destination.  Since
  19. many OS's have small character sets and/or limited lengths, users have
  20. this annoying habit of having the same names, etc. I am sure that various
  21. folk are evolving techniques for handling this type of thing.
