- Maybe there's something wrong with the follower arm if there's that much
- drag. The plastic feels "greasy" when new. Is the arm or the cam worn to
- the point that friction has increased? Have you determined that it's
- really the pump cam/arm contact that's the friction point?

- WD-40 doesn't stick around long under the hood anyway, in my experience.
- Maybe a bit of eithher moly- or graphite-bearing grease would be the ticket.

- Just a thought, but you might look to the throttle linkage for sticking or
- binding. GM throttle cables like to stick after a few decades but a bit of
- grease inside the end sleeve helps them right out.
