- I don't know about the rest of you devout horror fans, but I must say that
- my favorite "Dead things attacking people" type movie was:
-
- RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD...
-
- Although the prequel, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (in B/W) pulls a close second.
- And the sequel, RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD II just SuCkEd immensely (nothing
- more degrading than trying to make a comedy out of a horror)
-
- But ROTLD was cool... the story line had continuity... there was very few
- loopholes (in any?)... and (the one thing that can really pull a horror down)
- there wasn't a single character that was "the hero". You know, the guy that
- does things that no one in the right mind would do (take big risks)...
-
- People were actually scared. The punks in that gang didn't act 'tough' once
- they knew what they were up against... I thought it was a pretty realistic
- way people would act under those circumstances.
-
- AND, the ending was cool (probably the hardest thing to do to a horror movie
- is give it a good ending)... when they nuked the city... I was quite content
- that they didn't send a small army in to get mangled by the corpses (that
- would've been a real cliche... army attacks supernatural force and gets its
- ass kicked)
-
- ROTLD is a classic... if you haven't seen it... you're missing out.
