- When I first started playing a few years ago a friend told me to buy
- The Guitar Handbook. It's pretty good and has a chord dictionary in the back.
-
- But anyway, here are a few chords you should know. I'm giving the fret
- position here, you can figure out the fingering yourself.
-
- E Em E7 A Am A7 G G7 B7 C D Dm D7 Dsus4 Dsus2
-
- e 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 1 2 0 2 1 2 3 0
- B 0 0 0 2 1 2 0 0 0 1 3 3 1 3 3
- G 1 0 1 2 2 0 0 0 2 0 2 2 2 2 2
- D 2 2 0 2 2 2 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 0 0
- A 2 2 2 0 0 0 2 2 2 3 x x x x x
- E 0 0 0 x x x 3 3 x x x x x x x
-
- x = don't use this string
-
- These are quite a few of the chords which are used. If you want like an
- F-chord, then just finger the E-chord with the last 3 fingers and use your
- index finger to "barre" the rest of the strings:
-
- F
-
- e 1
- B 1
- G 2
- D 3
- A 3
- E 1
-
- I hope this helps you.
