- just think of the fretboard extending all the way to the bridge.
- from there, just count up (imagine) 12, 5, 7, 9, 15, 14, 17, etc. frets.
- If I understand the term "choke up" correctly, I use my thumb.
- this allows one to hit the harmonic as part of normal playing.
- I have also found that if you pick with the non-pointed corners of the pick,
- you have a greater chance of hitting the harmonic.
- using a nickel for a pick is cute too.
