  35.     Here's a review I posted about the 2112 awhile back...

  38.   Another company that builds a MOSFET amp design is
  39.   TubeWorks ( they make the Real Tube pedal ).  Their
  40.   power amps are called MosValve.  I recently bought 
  41.   a 1-12" combo from them that is basically their Real Tube II
  42.   preamp combined with a 100 watt MosValve power amp.
  43.   I was blown away by the sound of this amp.  I had been
  44.   looking to buy a Bedrock ( very pricey ), but happened 
  45.   to see an ad in some guitar rag for the Tubeworks amp.

  47.   It took me awhile to find one ( I eventually called
  48.   Tubeworks ), but I'm glad I spent the time.

  50.   The pre-amp section has 2 12AX-7s.  It's set up with 
  51.   a clean channel that is similar to their Blue-Tube 
  52.   circuit ( about half the gain as the Real-Tube ).
  53.   The dirty channel is like a hot-rodded Real Tube, 
  54.   lots of crunch.  I can get some really sweet lead 
  55.   tones from it.  There's also a "stack" mode, where 
  56.   you can stack both channels for over-the-top leads.

  58.   Each channel has its own gain, master, and 3-band
  59.   EQ.  There's also a seperate volume for the "stack"
  60.   which essentially gives you a 3rd channel.  They
  61.   set the foot-pedal up with two jacks; if you plug
  62.   into one jack, you get clean/dirty with one switch,
  63.   and the second kicks the stack mode on/off; plugging
  64.   into the second gives you clean/dirty and reverb 
  65.   on/off ( Accutronics spring reverb tank ).  They also
  66.   say if you want all three operations, you buy a 2nd
  67.   single switch pedal and plug it into the 2nd jack.

  69.   The other thing that blew me away was the effects loop.
  70.   There are level controls on the back of the head for
  71.   both send and receive, plus a mix ( wet/dry ) knob on
  72.   the front.

  74.   I'm using it to drive an old Ampeg 4-12" and it sounds
  75.   great.  There are 2 speaker outs, with the internal speaker
  76.   plugged into one of them, so it's pretty easy to play
  77.   with different speaker combinations.
