  11. Eons (well, at least twelve years) ago, I saw a PBS dramatization of a
  12. Wodehouse story which ended with a chararter being chased by a mob.
  13. They run into a house where someone is doing a crossword, and the
  14. dialog that ensues is;

  16.     "What is a 9 letter word for an implement used in the pusuit
  17.     of agriculture?"
  18.  
  19.     "Pitchfork.  And that's not all it's used in pursuit of!!"

  25. My favorite part of the J&W presentations are what goes on in the
  26. background in Bertie's club.  One episode had them playing cricket
  27. using a fireplace shovel as the bat!!

  29. I can swear I've read the story about J&W going to N.Y.  The ending I
  30. recall is completely different (Aunt Agatha turns out to have been an
  31. old music hall singer).  I was shocked by the Jeeves' behavior in the
  32. last story of the recent series (beaning a cop), and can't help
  33. wondering if that story hadn't been tampered with as well!

  35. I agree, that Bertie is played well (an utter boob), but Jeeves could
  36. have been more rigid!
