- Unfortunately, my mental pictures of Bertie and Jeeves received a rude shock
- when I chanced upon the first episode (which was an adaptation of "Mating
- Season, if I'm not mistaken). I felt Steven Fry as Jeeves was too expressive and
- (*horror*) not only smiled (instead of merely twitching his lip) but
- unabashedly raised his eyebrows far beyond the regulatory one-eighth of an
- inch.)
-
- By the second episode, however, I'd made the necessary mental adjustments to
- sit back and accept the characters as portrayed and stop complaining.
-
- Still here're my grades.
-
- Bertie = B+
- Jeeves = A-
- Madeline Basset = A-
- Bingo Little = B
- Gussie Finknottle = A-
-
- (I think I'm being very generous here.)
-
- Harold "Stinker" Pinker, Stephanie Byng, Aunt Dahlia get passing grades.
