- A banjolele is a little tiny banjo; they were used in the late 19th c.
- during the banjo craze (another thing that dates a lot of the cultural
- stuff in the Bertie & Jeeves stories as a couple of decades before the
- actual setting of the stories, reflecting Wodehouse's childhood
- memories according to Usborne), when there were consorts of banjoists
- playing in groups, with instruments of all sizes and ranges.
