- Agreed...remember too, that Gollum had the ring a good deal longer than
- Bilbo, so perhaps the 'mummifying' effect that Andrew suggests may
- linger a bit after separation from the ring...also, Gollum was a tough
- ol' bugger, made so by centuries of hand to mouth living at the roots
- of the Misty Mts...not like Bilbo who was quite content and comfortable
- in Bag End.
