- Yes, this reminds me of another possible inconsistency regarding
- Gandalf. As I recall, he is commenting about either Saruman's or Denethor's
- use of the Palantiri. He says something about "How I wish I dared to use it,
- to cast my sight back to the first age, and to witness the unimaginable hand
- and mind of Feanor at work in his halls in Aman". Being a Maia, I would think
- that !he was there when it happened!. At least, it is another hint that he had
- forgotten some things, or perhaps when he was sent to ME, part of the
- transformation to a near-human form involved memory loss.
