- Hello,
-
- I am the DSCH novice who is soliciting recommendations from this
- newsgroup. I have received many enthusiastic suggestions to listen to the
- 8th Quartet. In fact, "enthusiastic" is perhaps the understatement of the
- year. Anyway, if I may dare to utter taboo names, how is the Kronos Quartet
- version of the 8th, which I believe is on their "Black Angels" CD? I ordered
- this disc through the mail just before I subscribed to a.f.s., but it has not
- yet arrived. Since I have been castigated for my choice of Karajan's
- performance of DSCH's 10th, I would like to make sure that the Kronos
- performance is orthodox with the veterans of this newsgroup. So, as the title
- implies, is the Kronos good, bad or not-fit-to-be-wiped-off-with-toilet-paper?
- And by the way, do not be concerned that I may have wasted any money, because
- I ordered CD for Tallis's Spem in Alium transcription.
- Thanks again for all advice and wisdom.
-
-
-
- Sincerely,
-
- Dave
