-
- Is that an order? By looking at the subject line, I'd say that you're accusing
- *all* straight people of being guilty of this. Talk about stereotyping...
-
- >ok? just stop telling gay jokes... and dumb blonde jokes...
-
- There's no law against that, nor should there be. It may not be the most
- polite and considerate thing to do, but as long as one neither physically harms
- you or engages in repeated verbal attacks in your face, you have no right to
- make such a request--unless you want to repeal the First Amendment...
-
- >just stop being scornful and nasty...
-
- All straights are scornful and nasty. I'll be sure to write that one down. I
- may want to remember that the next time I have to deal with one of the heart-
- less bastards.
-
- >just stop looking at me and my lover like we're pariahs when we walk down the
- >street...
-
- Again--no right to this. I have no problem with what you two do. I have no
- problem seeing you walking down the street. Again, it's a question of *legal
- rights* against *moral acceptance*. You have every right to expect legal
- rights. You have *no* right to force people to accept the lifestyle as a
- legitimate one within their own morality.
-
- >just stop spitting on me...
-
- That can be assault. There's already a law against that, whether you are gay
- or whether you are a purple Tahitian carpenter.
-
- >ok? that's all i've ever asked of anyone...
-
- You might as well ask for a Constitutional Convention.
-
- >stop raping people... stop having sex with them if they don't want to...
-
- Yes, I'd call that rape...Are you implying that gays have never raped anyone?
-
- >it's not a question of laws... it's a question of being kind...
-
- Being kind is good. But there is no law mandating kindness. And I'd agree
- that we *should* be kind, and that anyone who engages in the behavior you descr
- ibe are, in my opinion, complete assholes. As long as you can understand that
- being an asshole isn't illegal (without illegal actions, anyway), then I would
- agree with you.
-
- >why do i need to quote the bible to you?
- >i'm just so tired of the pain...
-
- >i don't need to be saved by you... or by your bible... or by your god...
- >not today...
-
- That's fine. If you're happy with what you are, and you're willing to risk the
- possible consequences if there is a God, then more power to you.
-
- >it is our responsibility to be kind... to be thoughtful...
-
- I agree. But again, it's not law.
-
- >STOP HURTING PEOPLE!!!
-
- Gay people have *never* hurt anyone??
-
- I know damn well that gay people have often been deprived of many of the rights
- that straights have taken for granted. But that doesn't mean that all straight
- people are assholes. It also doesn't mean that gays have any rights to change
- how some people feel about homosexuality. Actions can be (and are) illegal.
- Thoughts aren't--at least not yet. But it's almost 1984...
