  23. Well, Taylor, I meant "fairly trivial" in comparison with worse crimes,
  24. such as (for example) selling arms to terrorist nations and illegally
  25. using the proceeds to destabilize Central American governments.

  27. I don't disagree that it's WRONG. My contention, which you totally failed
  28. to address (instead, drifting off into a frothing-at-the-mouth rave against
  29. evil communist liberals) was that there are OTHER points against Zoe Baird
  30. that mean she shouldn't have been picked for AG; and most of them concern
  31. the sillier aspects of modern conservatism, which she tends to be on.

  33. Incidentally, all of you ready to crucify Zoe Baird for violating immigration
  34. laws, what did you think of Ed "got out with the prosecutors fifteen feet
  35. behind him" Meese? Seems to be a double standard here, I reckon. (If you're
  36. curious, I think they BOTH committed crimes and deserve the appropriate
  37. penalties. The difference between the two cases is that Baird didn't get to
  38. weasel out of HER just desserts.)
