  26.    The problem with career politicians is two fold.  (1)  They have shown
  27. themselves to only be interested in re-election.  (2)  They don't have the
  28. real-world experience to understand the concequences of their legislation.
  29. The second point was illistrated by Herbert Humphry when after politics he
  30. went into the private sector and failed in his business.  He commented afterward
  31. that he wished he had realized what government regulations did to small
  32. businessmen.  ( I admit that the exact citation is vague on my part, but 
  33. hopefully the flavor still exists).
