- The problem with career politicians is two fold. (1) They have shown
- themselves to only be interested in re-election. (2) They don't have the
- real-world experience to understand the concequences of their legislation.
- The second point was illistrated by Herbert Humphry when after politics he
- went into the private sector and failed in his business. He commented afterward
- that he wished he had realized what government regulations did to small
- businessmen. ( I admit that the exact citation is vague on my part, but
- hopefully the flavor still exists).
