  13. Well now, Joel has been bugging me for weeks now to post something to
  14. alt.fan.lemurs (I was one of the ones "present" on a local BBS when
  15. he first "discovered" this subject- it's a _long_ story).  
  16. He also likes to tell me how lemurs love to watch Japanese Animation 
  17. because of all the big eyes.  Well, since it seems that all is fair
  18. in net.war, here is an announcement that should attract lemurs from
  19. all over the country:

  23. On the weekend of Febuary 20, 1993, the Animation Society of Virginia
  24. Tech, VTAS, will present AnimeFest X.  This will be a 30-hour, weekend long
  25. FREE Anime showing on the campus of Virginia Tech university.
  26. All programs will be shown on the giant projection TV in the 
  27. Hancock Hall auditorium, complete with 900 watts of sound.
  28.   Virginia Tech is located in Blacksburg, Virginia (like you couldn't
  29. guess from the name), about 30 miles southwest of Roanoke along I-81.

  31.   While the schedule has not yet been set, we can promise a wide variety of
  32. subbtitled and English material.  The prime feature will be the British 
  33. claymation film "Truckers", based on the Terry Pratchett novel of the 
  34. same name (also the author of the "Diskworld" series, and "The Color of
  35. Magic").  We are quite certain that this film has never before been shown
  36. in the United States, so it promises to be quite a premire!
  37.   Other Animation films (mostly Japanese in origin)lineup include 
  38. the Ranma movie (subtitled in English), Women Warriors Effi and Jiri 
  39. (also subtitled), Samauri Pizza Cats (English), Mamono Hunter Yohko 
  40. (subtitled), Supernatural Beast City (subbed), the completed Aeon Flux #1, 
  41. and The Wind is Called Amnesia (subtitled).

  50. for any lemurs who might attend.  Additionally, the Hancock 100 auditorium
  51. is equipped with conventional built-in lighting, there are no kitchen lights
  52. to swing from.
