- Hi,
-
- TO improve AM reception for long distances, you can build
- a filtered, and tuned antena curcuit that will hook into
- your wall outlet, using the AC powerlines, that are strung
- up all over your local area, to receive AM radio.
-
- DONT HOOK YOUR ANTENA JACK DIRECTLY TO THE AC OUTLET!!! YOU
- WILL BLOW IT UP!!
-
- I dont have the time to design and test such a curcuit, but
- you may find someone in one of the electronics, or ham radio
- newsgroups that has one designed already that can be tuned
- to one of the AM station's that stern is on. The FCC does
- permit (I am pretty sure) the use of power lines as a
- antenna for RECEIVING.. (It is illegal to transmit on a
- power line)
-
- Good luck.
- Marc
