Um, excuse me. What rules exactly did Howard Stern break?!
What has been said on the Howard Stern show that hasn't been said 100 times on Donahue, Ofrah, Geraldo, and every other slimy talk show? And how many other "shock jocks" are there around the country that rip off Stern and are ignored by the FCC?
Just because Stern says the words penis and masturbation do not make his show "obscene". And the FCC claims that it is merely protecting the innocent ears of children who listen to the show, when in fact its been shown that children do not listen to Stern (evident from the advertising on the show).
The bottom line is, the FCC was clearly targeting Stern. With Sikes gone, maybe the FCC will go back to concentrating on what they're supposed to be doing, instead of practicing censorship. I'm sure they can find better things to do with our money.
