- Well.....I'm not unhappy with Brett's portrayal myself, but the
- complaints I've heard from those who are go something like this: Brett has
- taken all of Holmes' eccentricities and pushed them to absurd extremes. He
- also overplays Holmes' superiority and rudeness while ignoring his equally
- Canonical compassion and humanity. Phil Shreffler (the outgoing editor of the
- BSJ) has often commented that Brett's Holmes is a throroughly unpleasant
- person, which the Holmes revealed in the Canon usually is not.
- As I say, I don't completely agree with this assessment (although I
- have occasionally felt Brett overdoes some of his odd body language), but a
- number of Sherlockians apparently do. How many, I have no idea.
