  29.     Well.....I'm not unhappy with Brett's portrayal myself, but the
  30. complaints I've heard from those who are go something like this:  Brett has
  31. taken all of Holmes' eccentricities and pushed them to absurd extremes.  He
  32. also overplays Holmes' superiority and rudeness while ignoring his equally
  33. Canonical compassion and humanity.  Phil Shreffler (the outgoing editor of the
  34. BSJ) has often commented that Brett's Holmes is a throroughly unpleasant
  35. person, which the Holmes revealed in the Canon usually is not.
  36.     As I say, I don't completely agree with this assessment (although I
  37. have occasionally felt Brett overdoes some of his odd body language), but a
  38. number of Sherlockians apparently do.  How many, I have no idea.
