  12. Hi folks!

  14. Just a few last-minute notes.  Everything is shaping up very nicely so far,
  15. with only one relatively minor glitch.  As some of you may have heard, our
  16. hotel suffered some water damage during the recent heavy rains.  This has 
  17. *not* affected the con- we are still at the Red Lion Hotel Orange County
  18. Airport.  However, we did lose the luxury suite we had planned to use for
  19. our hospitality suite.  The hotel has been very helpful, and provided us 
  20. with a function room to use instead, so the only real impact is that there
  21. will not be a private hot tub for our use.  The hotel has a public hot tub
  22. and pool, though, so you can still have a nice soak if you like.

  24. The art show is filling up fast, and we have a lot of new artists, and artists
  25. who are new to our show, with some fantastic work.  One thing you'll want to
  26. keep in mind is that Saturday night will be the last time you can bid on the
  27. art- the art show will not be open on Sunday.  Instead, we will keep the art
  28. show open until 8 PM on Friday, and until 9 PM on Saturday, so you should 
  29. have plenty of time to look at and bid on the art.

  31. Our membership is currently nearly 300, which is about how many people we
  32. had at the entire convention last year.  Needless to say, we are very happy,
  33. and very glad that we moved to a much bigger (and much nicer!) venue.  We
  34. are looking forward to a great con, and we hope that you can join us, in
  35. spirit, if not in person.
