  23. I am not going to defend People magazine, but did you really think that
  24. _Dave Barry Does Japan_ was that good?  I was very dissapointed in it
  25. myself -- it was simply not up to Dave's standards, I felt.  I only
  26. laughed at a few things in it, and the whole book had a rather depressing
  27. feeling to it, like Dave didn't really want to write about Japan, but
  28. Random House had already paid him to do it.

  30. I love Dave's writing, but I just don't think that Dave should have done
  31. Japan.
