  12. From a a similar part of the world: does anyone know where you can get
  13. recordings of the Central Asian singer Samko (?) Namchilak?  I've heard
  14. her on Radio 3's "Mixing It" programme a few times.  She has evolved a
  15. genre of her own that mixes traditional techniques with ideas from jazz
  16. and the Western avant-garde: if you can imagine a collaboration between
  17. the Gyuto Monks, Diamanda Galas and Jan Garbarek you'd be getting near it.
