- What are the official qualifications for the "Foaming at the mouth anti-
- drug" posting on alt.drugs?
-
- 1) Subject title should be very offensive
- 2) Poster indicates that he is "sick" of "druggies"
- 3) The downfall of society blamed on drugs. (cost to taxpayers is optional
- but earns bonus points)
- 4) Poster must present very little support for his angry claims.
- 5) Any support presented (and I again remind you that support detracts
- from the quality of the art) must be extremely ridiculous.
- 6) The death penalty must be invoked.
- 7) Poster must self-censor some of his language by replacing letters
- with asterisks.
-
- So let us judge the posting titled "YOU FUCKERS," composed by a merry
- prankster who used the account of the hapless and unsuspecting "WOODWARD"
-
- Title: excellent in this category. The use of all capitals is very
- effective.
- cost to taxpayers & encouraging kids to use drugs--these are true to
- form, but not very creative. Certainly arguments which will not be
- followed upon, so they do at least get some points.
- Quip about lethal injection is creative, since most "foaming essayists"
- support shooting. The use of irony is also good.
- Self-censoring the word fuckers (f**ckers) is excellent, especially comical
- since the word was left intact in the title. Not as good as ol'
- whatsisname back when who gave us the term "dr*gs"
-
- This posting gets a 7.5. It was done with awareness of the essentials,
- but because the "foaming post" is an art form about on the level of
- paint-by-numbers, I expect more creativity. Maybe you should try another
- in a couple weeks?
