- Why is it _ALWAYS_ Pink Floyd? I notice you get more creative later down
- in your post, but Floyd gets so _BORING_! (I know, i used to listen to
- them all the time, practically nothing else, i just got sick of them)
- you say you are pretty into 'noise' bands.. let's see here:
-
- >before by Husker Du's album, Zen Arcade. Other albums that reallyt did it
- >for me are Sonic Youth (most anything but especially Daydream Nation, and
- >the Ciccone Youth Whitey Album), Butthole Surfers (anything), Big Black (
- >Songs About Fucking).
-
- Old Sonic Youth is ok, but i wouldnt' really consider them a 'noise' band,
- butthole butthole are REAL good (one of my favorites) but i wouldn't
- consider them a 'noise' band either. I've heard of Big Black
- and Husker Du, but have never eard their stuff. *REAL* noise is *REALLY*
- good on marijuana/acid, etc.. for the adventurous, try to find some of the
- following: (if you can't, mail me, i can point you to places to find it)
- (in no particular order)
-
- Crash Worship ADRV (not true noise, but real good)
- the Swans (_OLD_ swans though, new stuff is very lightweight, non-noisy,
- try to find _Filth_ and _Body to Body, Job to Job_ by them, both REAL good)
- Hanatrash
- the Gerogerigegege
- Einstuerzende Neubauten
- Masonna (REALLY good!, try and find _Shinsen na Clitoris_)
- Controlled Bleeding
- Throbbing Gristle (most of the time when asked what my favorite #1 band
- is, I am in a TG mood. Sometimes i'm not though.. but they are more
- consistently my favorite than any other. The Founding Fathers of
- Industrial Noise)
- KK Null
- Belt (good ambient stuff, but some this bands stuff is SCARY, even when
- straight.. I am not brave enough yet to try listening to this on acid)
- the Boredoms (kindof Butthole Surfers-ish, but more weird)
- Genbaku Onanies
-
- .. theres lots more, this is just from memory. I'd enjoy hearing any reports
- anyone has about their experiences on this music, straight or high.
-

-
- I think (from what i've heard of his stuff) that Al was best on _Rabies_
- by Skinny Puppy, which he helped on alot (this is also my favorie Skinny
- Puppy album).
-
- Plant your seeds.
