- A quibble -- the stated half-life of Po210 in the article was
- just over 20 years. According to "Chart of the Nuclides" published
- by Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, the half-life of Po210 is
- 138.38 days. I should also point out the Po210 throws out so
- many alphas that Polonium metal samples are bathed in the blue
- glow of Cerenkov radiation even when sitting in ambient air.
- Po210 is in the last part of the decay chain from U238 that ends
- with: Pb210 -> beta -> Bi210 -> beta -> Po210 -> alpha -> Pb206.
