  12. A quibble -- the stated half-life of Po210 in the article was
  13. just over 20 years.  According to "Chart of the Nuclides" published
  14. by Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, the half-life of Po210 is
  15. 138.38 days.  I should also point out the Po210 throws out so
  16. many alphas that Polonium metal samples are bathed in the blue
  17. glow of Cerenkov radiation even when sitting in ambient air.
  18. Po210 is in the last part of the decay chain from U238 that ends
  19. with: Pb210 -> beta -> Bi210 -> beta -> Po210 -> alpha -> Pb206.
