  13. I need a source for 8 bit linear CODECs and LPC chips (linear predictive
  14. compression) I'm prototyping my own secure voice telephony.

  16. Apparently the bandwidth with an 8 bit ADC sampling narrowband audio at 7khz is
  17. too fast for todays technology. With LPC you can compress it down to 9600 baud.

  19. If I had an ISDN phone system, then I wouldn't have these constraints.

  22. scrambling chips.
