- The sanctions against South Africa didn't deprive the South African
- people of basic medical supplies, water treatment equipment, and such,
- as the sanctions against Iraq have done to the Iraqi people. I support
- general sanctions against Iraq, but believe that under the supervision
- of international relief agencies such as the Red Cross and the American
- Friends Service Committee, penicilin. prostheses, and such should be
- allowed into the country.

- I am unconditioanlly opposed to bombing any country. I am as opposed
- to Sadaam Hussein's actions against the Kurds and the Shiites as I am
- to the U.S.'s actions against Iraq. But, as an American citizen, my
- voice is strongest when speaking out on policies within this country,
- though as a member of Amnesty International, I have worked for the past
- four years to end human rights abuses around the world including in
- Iraq.
