  16. The sanctions against South Africa didn't deprive the South African
  17. people of basic medical supplies, water treatment equipment, and such,
  18. as the sanctions against Iraq have done to the Iraqi people.  I support
  19. general sanctions against Iraq, but believe that under the supervision
  20. of international relief agencies such as the Red Cross and the American
  21. Friends Service Committee, penicilin. prostheses, and such should be
  22. allowed into the country.

  24. I am unconditioanlly opposed to bombing any country.  I am as opposed
  25. to Sadaam Hussein's actions against the Kurds and the Shiites as I am
  26. to the U.S.'s actions against Iraq.  But, as an American citizen, my
  27. voice is strongest when speaking out on policies within this country,
  28. though as a member of Amnesty International, I have worked for the past
  29. four years to end human rights abuses around the world including in
  30. Iraq.
