  12. We had an interesting visitor to Trinity College last Friday - Salman Rushdie,        
  13. publication of his novel "The Satanic Verses", which the Iranians believe to be blasphemous to the Muslim religion. Rushdie has been in hiding in Britain for  
  14. the past four years with police protection day and night.
  15.     Rushdie addressed a conference last Friday evening on the issue of      freedom of speech and censorship, and is seeking the help of governments in     various countries to put pressure on the Iranian government to revoke the death sentence.
