- Jason considers a moment. "Well Magda, I think it's more the case that
- injudicious -use- of a weapon here is what is considered uncool. There are
- several Callahan's tales where a person had a weapon, and was allowed to
- keep it, -after- they indicated that they could be trusted not to shoot or
- 'slice & dice' the other patrons in the bar. You don't even -want- to know
- what kind of weaponry some of the other patrons here, myself included,
- might be carrying. But you will note that you -rarely-, if ever, see any
- indication that we have weapons at all. If you want to -play- with weapons,
- that's what the Danger Room is for. It's also a matter of courtesy to
- mention at the start of a violent post that the post -does- contain violent
- material, so the more gentle-natured patrons here don't have to read
- violent material if they don't want to. This is a place for relaxing and
- healing, not one for fighting. If your weapons make you comfortable, by all
- means keep them with you. And thank you for the courtesy of keeping the
- blades peace-tied."
-
- (For those unfamiliar with a peace-tie, it is a cord or other strap that
- prevents hasty drawing of a weapon from it's sheath, common at ren-fairs
- and SCA events, and other places where the participants carry live steel in
- crowds).
-
- "Now, please sit back down, and tell me what you would like to drink. By
- the way, I think your fur is quite nice, and I can see where it would be a
- definite advantage to a werewolf to not have a tail. On the other hand,
- Thyra would take -most- unkindly to the suggestion of losing her tail. But
- when she changes shape, she can decide at will weather or not she has a
- tail in the new form. Perhaps she can join us in discussing the pro's and
- con's of shapeshifting?"
