- When it was first developed, the inventor of the QWK format (Mark Herring, aka
- Sparky) didn't anticipate its current success and widespread use, so I don't
- believe he ever released the format himself. Since then, a large number of
- informal additions have been made to the format by various mail format authors.

- There is one excellent file describing the format available to first-time
- callers on the BBS in the sig below (V.32bis/HST); call there and download
- QWKLAY*.ZIP. As far as I know, it's not available for ftp, although I may be
- wrong.
